Kōanga and Emergency Drill Week
We have kicked off our Kōanga / Spring time with a buzz!
Kia orana, This week we celebrated Cook Island language week in many special ways
Kia ora, manuia le afiafi, Uttama san̄je, Magandang gabi, He waka eke noa! We all in this together! The first week of school holidays is over, with one more to go.
The past week our kaiako, kaimahi, whānau, tamariki have celebrated the Māori New Year known as Matariki or Pūanga (depending where you live in Aotearoa).
Marae haerenga. A great way to strengthen our te reo māori me o ngā tikanga.

There was a lot of excitement this month when our bike track was reshaped with lime stone!
We wrapped up the year with a big family Christmas event with our tamariki being the heart of our evening.
To stay connected with our families and friends we hosted a Light Party for Halloween.
For Father’s day we hosted a Special Person breakfast. We had an amazing turn out, re-connecting with our aiga and whānau.
Every Friday during Term 3 our tamariki enjoy fun, age appropriate interactive challenges planned by coach Cullen.
Our weekly School transition programme is under way with our group of children attending Richmond School. A great partnership to bridge the gap to support a smoother and more responsive settling and transition process for our tamariki and their whanau. They did us proud adjusting to the classroom environment and learning the ways of Primary school expectation.
A new fitness initiative led by Sport Hawke’s Bay has got the kids at Learning Adventures Maraenui building their skills in everything from hula hooping to tennis.
Here at Learning Adventures Maraenui we have been thinking about how we can support the health and well-being of all tamariki who access our service, particularly with oral health.
Today we thought we would venture out into our community one last time during the school holidays and enjoy something new. We decided to have a picnic lunch with some yummy buns which were donated by a lovely lady in the community.
Here we are back at the koha shed again as we were invited back to join Whaea Belinda in sowing some vegetable seeds in preparation of spring. It's great that we are able to venture out into our local community of Maraenui and experience hands on learning experiences right here in our back yard.
