Our Rooms
Learning Adventures Takanini has two separate rooms, enabling us to deliver safe, nurturing and age appropriate learning experiences for all our children.
Buzzy Bee Room
Our Buzzy Bee Room is a home away from home for our busy 2 and 3 year olds, and is equipped with all the resources little ones need to thrive. Here the main focus is on exploration, communication, social skills and curiosity - however, the children learn and develop so many other different skills through the experiences we provide on a daily basis. All of these developmental experiences prepare them to successfully transition into the Pukeko Room and then on to school.
Daily Routine
7:30 am: Centre opens and children begin to arrive; children engage in free play.
8:00 am: Vans arrive/free play and exploration with teachers.
9:15 am: Circle time welcome – we start off with a welcoming song, where we say hello to each child so they gain a sense of belonging. We then ask them how they have been and what they have been doing at home. This encourages children to communicate, develop language skills and build confidence. We talk about the weather, colours, days of the week; we do lots of singing, action songs and movement, and read stories.
9:35 am: Handwashing, karakia and kai time sitting at the table.
10:00 am: After morning tea children put their chairs, plates and cups away and transition to the mat area to do some quiet activities while they wait to brush their teeth. Once all the children have brushed their teeth they will help tidy up the mat time area and head outside for free play and daily planned experiences relating to our topic.
10:30 am: Nappy changing and toileting (children in nappies have nappy checks regularly throughout the day, those toilet training are encouraged to go to the toilet every hour).

11:30 am: Children and teachers tidy up the centre.
11:45 am: Circle time farewell – we sing songs and farewell the morning session children.
12:00 pm: Hand washing, karakia, lunch – our lunch menu changes daily and comes with fruit and water.
